Betty Louise Tadlock Broadwell Wood, 83 of Keokuk, IA died Sunday, May 15, 2011 in Keokuk, IA as the result of an automobile accident.
She was born on May 17, 1927 in Lancaster, MO the daughter of Ira Lee and Louise Catherine Schafer Tadlock. On December 23, 1945 Betty was united in marriage to Raymond Lee Broadwell in Lancaster, MO. He preceded her in death on October 19, 1983. On March 30, 1991 she was united in marriage to Roy Alvin Wood in Keokuk, IA. He preceded her in death on March 16, 2001.
Betty graduated from the Lancaster High School in Lancaster, MO with the Class of 1945.
She was employed at Swift Co. in Keokuk, IA for 24 years before they closed, then for seven years at the Lee County Care Facility in Keokuk, IA before her retirement.
Betty was a faithful member of the New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk, IA. She loved attending church services and Wednesday night Bible study.
She enjoyed playing dominos and card games with her friends. Betty especially enjoyed spending time with her grandsons.
She is survived by two grandsons, Jesse Broadwell and his wife Angelia and Jamey Broadwell and his wife Brandie, all of Keokuk, IA, numerous great grandchildren, two nieces, Joyce Trent and her husband Marvin of Silver Springs, FL, Jan Weisinger and her husband Carl of Tioga, IL, one nephew, Gail Tadlock and his wife Linda of Keokuk, IA, several great nieces and great nephews, a step daughter, Wanda Williams and her husband Richard of Fullerton, CA, three step sons, David Wood and his wife Kay of Alexandria, MO, Richard Wood and his wife Patti of Donnellson, IA and Paul Wood and his wife Waverly of Evansville, WI.
Betty was also preceded in death by her son, Ronald Lee Broadwell in 2009, one sister, Violet Herschberger, three brothers, Lee Tadlock, Harold Tadlock and Glen Tadlock.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2011 at the New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk, IA with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery, Keokuk, IA.
