Barry Dirk "Bubby" Smith, Jr., 29, of Keokuk, IA, died Sunday, August 22, 2021 at his home. He was born on February 27, 1992 in San Antonio, TX, the son of Barry Dirk and Ora Lee Gould Smith. Bubby was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Keokuk. He had been employed at Keokuk Steel Casting. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and Harley Davidson motorcycles. Bubby was a very giving person and especially loved to give to the St. Jude Children's Hospital. He is survived by his father, Barry Dirk Smith of Phoenix, AZ, his mother and step-father, Ora Lee and Woodrow Miller of Keokuk, his grandmother, Phyllis Jean Gould of Keokuk, three brothers, James Wesley King, Jr. and Charles Russell King both of Burlington, IA, and Steve Leffler of Keokuk, aunts and uncles, Susan Philips and Liz Hollins of Somerset, TX, Sonny Bruce of Shawnee, KS, Charlie Smith of San Antonio, TX, Clint Gould of Keokuk, Ruben and Gail Smith of Pleasanton, TX, and Robin and Steve Bullard of Poteet, TX, and cousins, David Smith of San Antonio, TX, Kathy Lamma Barnes and Samantha Payne both of Keokuk, IA. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Tuesday (Sept 7th) at the Calvary Baptist Church in Keokuk with Pastor John Heath officiating.
