Barbara Schreck Martin, 64, of Stanton, KY died Sunday, September 23, 2012 at her home in Stanton, KY. She was born November 3, 1947 in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of George H. and Bessie Hayden Schreck. In March of 1989 she was united in marriage to Steven Ray Martin in Lexington, KY. He preceded her in death on September 12, 2002. Barbara graduated with the Class of 1965 from Kahoka High School. In 1968 she graduated from St. Anthony's School of Nursing in Rockford, IL with a bachelor of nursing degree. She was employed with BHN & BRI Management Care Services as a sales representative. Barbara was an avid reader, and loved traveling. She is survived by two sisters, Georgia Schilling of Trenton, MO and Kathleen Stark and her husband Darrell of Ponca City, OK, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother in law, Max Schilling and many aunts and uncles. A Mass of Christian burial was held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 29, 2012 at St. Martha's Catholic Church in Wayland, MO with Father Nicholas Reid officiating. Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery in Kahoka, Missouri. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Kahoka Cemetery or Kids Chance of Kentucky Scholarship Committee.
