Barbara J. Dye, 66, of Montrose, IA, formerly of Keokuk, IA died Sunday, September 8, 2013 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA. She was born on October 8, 1946 in Cape Girardeau, MO, the daughter of Lloyd and Ima Jean Robbins. She was raised by her father and step-mother, Shelbia , and her Aunt Georgia Strickland. Barbara graduated from St. Charles High School in St. Charles, MO with the Class of 1964. She married Donald Hansel in December of 1964 and they later divorced. She married Marty Dye in December of 1977 and they later divorced. She attended the Assembly of God in Keokuk. Barbara enjoyed watching westerns and Lifetime movies on television. There was nothing more treasured in her life than her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by three daughters, Tracy Helenthal of Hannibal, MO, Pam Mann and her husband Bill and Mindy Dye all of Keokuk, one son, Jason Dye of Keokuk, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one sister, Linda Jones and her husband Larry of Florida, one brother, Ricky Robbins, her step-mother, Shelbia Robbins of Kennett, MO and her ex-son-in-law, Mike Helenthal of Keokuk. She was preceded in death by her father, a daughter in infancy, Melissa June Hansel and one brother Randy Robbins. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 12th, 2013 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Brother Bill Hauser officiating.
