Barbara L. Conn, 59, of New London, MO, formerly of Keokuk died Sunday, January 16, 2011 at her home.
She was born on September 25, 1951 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Bob and Alice Brown Hammel. On October 4, 1975 she was united in marriage to Michael Conn in Keokuk, IA. He survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Todd Conn and his wife Debbie of Longmont, CO, Trevor Conn of New London, MO and Tanner Conn of Keokuk, IA, three granddaughters, Courtney Gibson of Southern Pines, NC, Skylyn Conn of Longmont, Co and Mariana Conn of Kenosha, WI, her mother, Alice Hammel of Keokuk, IA, one sister, Linda Hammel Holmes and her husband Marty of Keokuk, one nephew Shawn Holmes of Keokuk, one niece Denise Holmes of Keokuk and one great-nephew.
She was preceded in death by her father and her grandparents.
She graduated from Keokuk High School in Keokuk, IA with the class of 1970.
Barb worked for the Hannibal School System for thirteen years as a food service employee and most recently for the Keokuk School System, retiring in 2010.
She was a member of the Keokuk Yacht Club, Women of the Elks and the Tim McGraw fan club.
Barb loved country music and going to concerts. She enjoyed going dancing and going to the casinos. Shopping was one of her favorite things to do and she always bought gifts for others. Barb was a loving wife, daughter, sister, mother and grandmother who cherished the time she spent with her family.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Pastor John Raab officiating. Burial was in the Sandusky Cemetery in Sandusky, IA.
