Arvita A. Wilson, 79, of Keokuk, IA, died Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA. She was born on May 9, 1928 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Roy and Lorena Smith Edwards. On November 19, 1947, Arvita was united in marriage to Bob Wilson at the First Baptist Church in Keokuk, IA. Arvita graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1946. She had been employed at the Daily Gate City newspaper in Keokuk. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Keokuk. Arvita was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker and one of her greatest joys was spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bob Wilson of Keokuk, one son, Clint Wilson and his wife Debbie of Keokuk, one daughter, Bev Wilson of Keokuk, three grandchildren, Eric Wilson and his wife Natasha , Jennifer Wilson and Jessica Wilson, two great-grandchildren, Avery & Sophie Wilson, one sister-in law, Gloria Edwards of Keokuk, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Roy Wayne Edwards, Wesley Edwards and Delbert Edwards. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Friday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Pastor Dale Thomas officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk, IA. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Keokuk.
