Arthur (Eugene) Wollam, 81, of Kahoka, Missouri died Sunday, March 21, 2010 at the Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. He was born September 6, 1928, the son of John C. and Ava Parrish Wollam in Clark County, Missouri. On March 8, 1948 he was united in marriage to Deloris Riffle in Lone Tree, Arkansas. She survives. Other survivors include his children, Linda Wollam of Keokuk, Cliff Wollam of Kahoka, Ed Wollam of Kahoka, Roger Wollam and his wife Lee if Aliso Viejo, CA, and Margret Vreeland and her husband Hurl of Virginia Beach, VA, his sister, Gerri Koeber of West Point, IA, sixteen grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren, his cousin Evelyn Story of Delta, Utah and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his oldest son James, three grandchildren, a sister and a brother. For many years he worked as a heavy equipment operator for various companies. Gene was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He enjoyed Bluegrass music, camping, fishing and visiting with friends. Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Thursday, March 25 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the CARE Building or the Blackledge Cemetery.
