Arthur J. Anderson, 62, of Keokuk, IA, died Monday, April 21, 2008 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. He was born on August 19, 1945 in Keokuk, IA, the son of Gabriel and Gladys Anderson. On December 26, 1962, Arthur was united in marriage to Cheryl Hardy in Kahoka, MO. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Lori Patterson and Dedra Anderson both of Keokuk, IA, one son, Tod Anderson of Keokuk, IA, five grandchildren, James Patterson, Jenny Anderson, Tate Anderson, Jake Skinner and Katie Skinner, three sisters, Elaine Draines of Keokuk, Anna Goetz and her husband Lindel of Palmyra, MO and Risa Langedal and her husband Rune of Keokuk, IA, four brothers, John Anderson and his wife Sandra of Keokuk, William Anderson and his wife Ruthann of Keokuk, Donald Anderson and his wife Betty of Keokuk, and Daniel Anderson and his wife Linda of Warsaw, IL and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Margaret Mason and one grandson, Joseph Skinner. He had been employed at Best Company, Seither & Cherry and Hickey's Construction as a carpenter and concrete finisher, retiring in 2007. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. For the past 20 years he made a special effort to care for his grandson's grave at Oakland Cemetery and also cared for the rest of the Babyland section. There will be no services or visitation. Memorials may be made to the Keokuk Group Home.
