Arlene Smalley Jones, 77, of Keokuk died Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Lexington Square in Keokuk. She was born on January 16, 1938 in Wyaconda, MO the daughter of John Fredrick and Lillian Fern Lee Smalley. On November 14th, 1967 Arlene was united in marriage to Edward R. Jones in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death on December 11, 1997. Arlene graduated from Keokuk Senior High School. She was a member of the New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk. She was employed at the River Hills Nursing Home in Keokuk as a nurse's aide. She is survived by a niece, Shari Anne Smalley Harrington and her husband Allen of Cisco, IL, two great nieces, Shelby Lee Harrington and Danaile Lee Tarango and her husband Daniel, two great nephews, Allen Fredrick Harrington and Cody Reed Harrington. She also leaves behind a very close friend, Bonnie Guiney of Keokuk. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Helen I. Hurlbert and her mother-in-law, Velma M. Jones. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk with Pastor Jason Mott officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA. Memorials may be made to the Southeast Iowa Dialysis Unit.
