Arlene Glines, 84, of Montrose, IA formerly of Argyle, IA died Sunday, June 7, 2015 at the Montrose Health Center in Montrose, IA.
She was born on March 4, 1931 in Farmington, IA, the daughter of Gardner and Ruth Fern Marshall Link. On August 30, 1952, Arlene was united in marriage to Kenneth Glines in Ft. Madison, IA. He preceded her in death on July 4, 1995.
She had been employed for many years as a seamstress at King Louie in Baxter Springs, KS.
Throughout her life Arlene delighted in crocheting Afghans and doilies for her family. She also made many counted cross-stitch projects. She enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles, listening to country and Christian music and reading her Bible.
She is survived by one son, Stanley Richard Glines and wife Jackie of Joplin, MO, two daughters, Connie Lynn Glines and Tammy Rentfrow both of Baxter Springs, KS, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two sisters, Darlene Haage of Argyle, Gerry Hawk and husband David of Montrose, one brother, Rodney Link and wife Lena of Argyle and nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, John, Ralph and Larry Link.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Chaplain Bill Willis and Pastor Preston Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton, IL.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10 am – 11 am at the funeral home with the family meeting with friends at that time.
