Antonette Mary Long, 94, of Keokuk, IA, formerly of Michigan, died Monday, November 1, 2016 at The Madison in Ft. Madison, IA.
She was born on March 30, 1922 in Hamtramck, MI, the daughter of John and Emily Nowaczyk Wysolmierski.
She left high school during wartime to work at Briggs Manufacturing Company in Detroit where she truly was "Rosie the Riveter".
She married the love of her life, Joseph Piskorowski on September 7, 1945 in Michigan. He preceded her in death on July 2, 1974. She later married Maynard Long and he preceded her in death.
She had been employed as secretary with the State of Michigan Court of Appeals until her retirement.
She was a life-long faithful member of the Saint Marten de Porres Catholic Church in Warren, MI.
She is survived by one daughter, Darlene (Mike) Loter, of Dunedin, Florida, formerly of Keokuk, six grandchildren, Joseph (Shawn) Milne of Keokuk, Timothy (Susan) Milne, Laurie (Denny) Reynolds, Janice (Craig) Mayer, Brandon (Megan) Parsons, and Melissa Piskorowski all of Michigan, five great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren, three sisters, Anne Bielecki of Michigan, Lorraine Mierski of Keokuk and Lucille Kelly of Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by a sister in childbirth, Adele.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, November 6, 2016 at the St. Faustina Catholic Church in Warren MI. Burial was in the Resurrection Cemetery in Mt. Clemens, MI.
