View Video Tribute Angela LaVone Elder, 47, of Keokuk, IA, died Thursday, April 21, 2011 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. She was born on February 10, 1964 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of the late Roger Thompson and Jimmy and Patricia Reed Elder. Angela graduated from the Plymouth High School in Plymouth, IL with the class of 1982. She had been employed at Metzeler Automotive in Keokuk, IA for nine years where she worked as a production worker. She then attended the Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, IA, and received her medical coder certification. She was presently working at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL as a certified medical coder. Angela was an avid reader, loved to listen to music and collected Monopoly games. She had two cats that she loved dearly. Angela was a kind and gentle person who loved spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her great niece and nephews. She is survived by her mother, Pat Elder of St. Francisville, MO, one sister, Kristi Brown and her husband John of St. Patrick, MO, one brother, Jimmy D. Elder and his wife Dee of Quincy, IL, three nieces, Amanda Brown of St. Patrick, MO, Maria Elder of Quincy, IL and Kacy Elder of WI, one nephew, Cody Brown of St. Francisville, MO, two great-nephews, Cody Shannon of St. Patrick , MO and Deegan Brown of St. Francisville, MO, one great- niece, Peyton Shannon of St. Patrick, MO, special aunts and uncles, Harold and Roseann LeMaster of St. Francisville, Mo, Jim and Shirley Dennison of Ottumwa, IA and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her fathers, Roger Thompson and Jim Elder, her grandparents and special pet cat, Autumn. Graveside services were held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Sand Cemetery in St. Francisville, MO with Reverend Tom Lemons officiating. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
