Alice R. Marmion, 79, of Hamilton, IL died Friday, February 22, 2008 at the Hancock County Nursing Home in Carthage, IL.
She was born January 17, 1929 in Alexandria, MO the daughter of Walter and Dillie Howell Leftwich. On April 28, 1946 in Keokuk, IA Alice was united in marriage to Everett E. Marmion. He preceded her in death on April 8, 2000.
Alice was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and cherished the time she spent with her family. She loved working crossword puzzles to help keep her mind sharp, watching game shows and reading.
She is survived by one son, Bruce Marmion and his wife Sandy of Hamilton, IL, three daughters, Kitty Smeltser and her husband Roger of Hamilton, IL, Jill Fratus of Quincy, IL, and Angela Sue Gassman and her husband John of Lake Ozark, MO, a daughter-in-law, Carole Marmion of Toms River, NJ, 10 grandchildren, 3 great granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Mace Marmion in 2003 and one brother.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Bro. Bill Hauser officiating. Burial was in the Keokuk National Cemetery, Keokuk, IA.
