Alice Kathryn Tallman Mahoney, 83 of Keokuk, IA died Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA.
She was born September 3, 1928 in rural Maywood, MO the daughter of David Wesley and Illa Mae Martin Tallman. She was united in marriage to Perry Brown, then Byron Keefe and later to Earl Mahoney. They all preceded her in death.
Alice had worked for many years as a Stanley Representative. She also had worked as a cook at Morgan Oil in Alexandria, MO and at the Lee County Home in Keokuk, IA. She retired from the Lee County Home after seventeen years of service.
She was a member of the New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk, IA and enjoyed attending the Thursday Woman's Bible study. She also attended God's Way Christian Center in Keokuk, IA.
Alice loved bingo and traveled throughout the tri-state area to play. She was a good-hearted woman and would do anything for anyone. She loved to cook for the holidays and family gatherings. Alice was a loving mother and grandmother and especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren.
She is survived by seven sons, Raymond Tallman and his wife Sheryl of Keokuk, IA, Estel Brown and his wife Joy of Keokuk, IA, Mike Keefe of Connecticut, Pat Keefe of Keokuk, IA, Kirk Keefe and Jackie of Keokuk, IA, Byron Keefe and his wife Pamela of Muscatine, IA and David Keefe and his wife Amy of Argyle, IA, and two daughters, Susie Riquier and her husband Dan of Connecticut and Mary Edmiston and Rick of Mexico, MO, twenty-nine grandchildren, over twenty-one great-grandchildren, three sisters, Maxine Schrader of Payson, IL, Dianna Tallman of Montrose, IA and Betty McFarland of Keokuk, IA and two brothers, David Wayne Tallman of St. Francisville, MO and Robert Tallman of Taylor, MO.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Charles Brown, two brothers, Wesley Tallman and Carl Tallman and two sisters, Lola Koenig and Edna Smith.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Monday November 28, 2011at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial was in the Keokuk National Cemetery.
