Alice Louise Norris Land, 78, of Hamilton, IL, formerly of Keokuk, IA died Friday, March 18, 2005 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA. She was born on July 8, 1926 in Grinnell, IA, the daughter of Ernest and Edith Graff Jochims. On August 21, 1943, Alice was united in marriage to Wilbur E. "Bill" Norris in San Antonio, TX. He preceded her in death on April 7, 1973. On December 24, 1975, she married Bernard "Bing" Land in Hamilton, IL. He survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Janet Buehl and her husband Robert of Hamilton, IL, Diana Gatzmeyer and her husband James of Austin, TX, Karen Rupp and her husband Michael of Keokuk, IA, one son, Ralph E. Norris of Keokuk, IA, one step-daughter, Dottie Pillans and her husband John of Keokuk, IA, twelve grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, twenty two great-grandchildren, one step-great-grandchild, one sister Kathleen Werner of Tama, IA, and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by one son in infancy, one step-son, Lee Land, one grandchild, Kristen LeAnn Taylor, one brother, Clifford Jochims and one sister, Dorothy Smith. She had been employed at and Don Holland Trucking in Keokuk, IA and Union Hall in Carthage, IL. She and her first husband, Bill, co-owned and operated Norris Auto Sales in Hamilton, IL and O.K. Rubber Welders in Keokuk, IA. She worked with her husband "Bing", driving cabs and semi-trucks. She was a dedicated truck driver and enjoyed being on the road. She was a member of the Bowling Association and bowled on four leagues. She also enjoyed crocheting and collecting dolls and loved to drink coffee with her friends. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 22 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Pastor John Heath officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk, IA.
