Alfred "Ralph" Clark, 74, of Montrose died Friday, July 17, 2015 at his home in Montrose, IA. He was born September 1, 1940 in Davenport, IA the son of Ralph Edwin and Esther M. Kueter Clark. On June 1, 1963 he was united in marriage to Lana Johnson in Montrose, where they made their home and raised their family. He is survived by his wife, Lana Clark of Montrose, a son, David (Betsy) Clark of Vermont, a daughter, Connie Jo (Chris) Clark-Hudson of Montrose, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, three sisters, Kay Russow of Tampa, FL, Janet (Pat Haynes) Griffin of Pekin, IL, and Ruth (Tom) Stockbridge of Burlington, IA, and a sister in law, Barb (Mark) Holland of Montrose, along with several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, great grandson, Hunter Rule, brother in infancy and a sister, Irene Douglas. Ralph graduated from Udell High School in Udell, Iowa. After high school he was drafted into the United States Army and proudly served his country from 1963-1965 as an MP. For thirty years he was employed with Roquette America in Keokuk and retired in 1995. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Keokuk. Ralph was a gifted woodworker and enjoyed countless hours in his workshop building everything from knick knacks to furniture and cabinetry. He enjoyed all sports but was a die-hard Cubs and Bulls fan. Most of all he was a wonderful, devoted husband, dad and grandpa who leaves his family a lifetime of wonderful memories and his 2001 Dodge Ram 4x4. According to his wishes he has been cremated. Graveside Services with military rites will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 9, 2015 at the Montrose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Montrose Fire Dept. or the American Red Cross.
