Alberta "Bert" May Brammer, 85, of Burlington, formerly of Keokuk, died Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, IA. She was born on November 25, 1931 in Revere, MO, the daughter of Elvin and Anna Goldie Steeples Hackard. She married Richard Hendricks in 1950 and he preceded her in death in 1974. She married David Brammer in 1992 and he preceded her in death in 2001. Alberta had been employed at Sheller Globe in Keokuk for forty-three years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of St. Peters/All Saints Catholic Church and also the UAW Local 444. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo at Cardinal Stritch, working jigsaw puzzles and playing the slot machines. Above all, she loved her family and enjoyed visiting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by one daughter, Deborah Hendricks Harris of Burlington, IA, one daughter-in-law, Pam Hendricks of Kewanee, IL, four grandsons, Cory Reusch and wife Heather of Olds, IA, John Ryan Reusch (Katie Rundle) of Burlington, Nicholas Hendricks of Kewanee, IL and Travis Hendricks of Princeton, IL, three great-grandchildren, Peyton Reusch, Kiley Hendricks and Sebastion Hendricks, one brother-in-law, Gary Hendricks and wife Tina of Hamilton, IL, three sisters-in-law, Wanda Mahoney of Keokuk, Sandy Dresser and husband Raymond of Montrose and Joann "Jodi" Hendricks of Keokuk. Besides her husbands, she was also preceded in death by one son, Jim Hendricks, her parents, one brother, Wayne Hackard and two sisters, Maxine Bryant and Libby Harker. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 25, 2017 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk. Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park in Keokuk. Memorials may be made to the family.
