Alan L. Sturm, 49, of Burlington, IA formerly of Kahoka, MO died Friday, May 20, 2011 at the Great River Medical Center – Kleine Unit. He was born October 13, 1961 in Lubbock, TX the son of Floyd and Hazel Moats Sturm. Alan was united in marriage to Jamie Beel on August 8, 1990 in Kahoka, MO. Together they had three sons, Alan, Casey and Jesse. Although they were divorced Jamie and Alan had a strong friendship. He was employed at Fienberg's Metal in Lockridge, IA. Alan was a loving father, enjoyed going to and watching Nascar, he enjoyed Western movies on the television and listening to music, he also enjoyed fishing and fixing things. He is survived by his three sons, Alan Sturm of Iowa, Casey Sturm and his wife Ashley of Missouri and Jesse Sturm of Missouri, ten brothers and sisters, Janet Lively of Oklahoma, Floyd "Skeet" Sturm and his wife Kay of Oklahoma, Jane Porter of Iowa, Joyce Gates and her husband Paul of Iowa, Larry Sturm and his wife Cathy of Colorado, June Roberts of Iowa, Terry Sturm of Missouri, Robert "Bob" Sturm and his wife Cindy of Iowa, Jeanne Rule of Iowa, and Ricky "Rick" Sturm and his wife Tina of Oklahoma, several nieces and nephews and one step-granddaughter Miley, along with Alan's best friends, Brent Johnson, Todd and Blake Shannon who he dearly enjoyed spending time with. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bill and John "Jack" Sturm and two nephews. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka with Pastor Andy Bunnell officiating. Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery, Kahoka, MO. Memorials may be made to the family.
