Agnes Effie Mason Lounsbury, 99, of Wyaconda, died Friday, December 26, 2014 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. She was born October 21, 1915 in Portville, PA, the daughter of Norman and Lily (nee Foster) Mason. On December 28, 1931 she was united in marriage to Howard Allen Lounsbury in Green Valley, NY. He preceded her in death on July 14, 2005. She is survived by one daughter, Batina (nee Lounsbury) Finch and her husband Charles of Randolph, NY, son in law, Don Riemann of Wyaconda, MO, daughter in law, Mary (nee Traver) Lounsbury of Falconer, NY along with 22 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, and 44 great great grandchildren. Besides her husband she was also preceded in death by four daughters, Fern "Sandy" (nee Lounsbury) Riemann, Dora Mae (nee Lounsbury) Burch, Anna Lounsbury and Carol Lounsbury, two sons, Howard Lounsbury, Jr. and Edward Lounsbury, son in law, Ward Burch, daughter in law, Mary Lounsbury, two grandchildren, Steven and Jimmy, four great grandchildren, Nathan, Zachary, Cassandra and Kylie, a brother James Mason, a sister Alice (nee Mason) Morgan and 2 half sisters and 1 half brother. During WWII she sewed canvas tents. After the war she worked at Fashion Town in Jamestown. She was then a practical nurse in Jacksonville, NY taking care of premature babies. Agnes was of the Catholic Faith. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, canning and cleaning. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. According to her wishes she has been cremated. Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka is assisting the family with arrangements.
