Agnes Anne Madau Burton, 82, of Keokuk, Iowa, died Saturday, April 5, 2008 at the Montrose Health Center in Montrose, IA. She was born May 19, 1925 in Rochester, New York, the daughter of Louis and Felice Groso Madau. On December 18, 1942 she was united in marriage to Thomas Fredrick Burton in Niagra Falls, New York. He preceded her in death. Agnes is survived by two daughters, Virginia J. Murray and her husband Timothy of Keokuk, Iowa, Louise A. Burton of Fulton, Missouri, a son, Thomas D. Burton of Hemet, California, three brothers, Maurice Madau, Tony Madau and Peter Madau, Seven grandchildren and twelve grandchildren and a large extended family, as well as Angela Hayslip who gave her loving care and comfort in her final years. She was also preceded in death by a daughter Jannice C. Carper, three sisters and a brother. According to her wishes her body was cremated and there will be no services.
