Rosa Fay Pitman, 46, of Keokuk, IA died Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at her home. She was born on September 2, 1964 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of John and Betty Wieprecht Pitman. She had been employed at Deluxe Cleaners in Keokuk. Rosa also operated a cleaning service out of the Maytag Laundromat in Keokuk. She was a member of the Salvation Army in Keokuk. Rosa was an avid Earnhardt fan and enjoyed watching Nascar and collecting Nascar memorabilia. She also collected teddy bears, coffee mugs, apples, roses and she especially loved to go fishing. Rosa's grandchildren were her pride and joy and she loved spending time with them. She is survived by, one daughter, Stacey Pitman and her fiancé John Chaney of Keokuk, one son, Adam Pitman of Keokuk, three grandchildren, Kaitoyn Pitman, Patricia and Stormie Hobb, her mother, Betty Day of Warsaw, IL, four brothers, Charles Day and his wife Lisa of California, Wayne Day of Warsaw, IL, Ronnie Day and his wife Lea of Lorraine, IL and Tom Pitman and his wife Crystal of Keokuk, three sisters, Dolly Stancil of Ft. Madison, IA, Cindy Williams and her husband Alan of St. Louis, MO and Jane Day of Warsaw, IL, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and special friends, Kevin Kellum of Keokuk and Sue Francis of Keokuk, who had been like a mother to Rosa. She was preceded in death by her father, one brother Phillip Day and one granddaughter, Adalynn. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Major Jim Amick and Pastor Ronnie Braggs officiating. Burial was in the Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
