Robert Lee "Bob" Wilson, 92 of Keokuk, IA died Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at River Hills Village in Keokuk.
He was born December 6, 1926 in Keokuk, IA the son of Will E. and Blanche Rosencrans Wilson. On November 19, 1947, Robert was united in marriage to Arvita Edwards in Keokuk. She preceded him in death on December 4, 2007.
Bob graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1944.
He had been employed by Kast Metal Corporation in Keokuk all of his life, holding many positions including corporate tech manager.
Bob had been a long time member of the First Baptist Church in Keokuk.
He was a very talented baseball player and as a young man he had the opportunity to sign a minor league baseball contract. Bob was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and was thrilled to be able to watch the Cubs win the World Series with his son, Clint. He enjoyed playing tennis throughout his life. Bob also enjoyed his weekly breakfast outings at Ft. Worth with his good friends.
Bob is survived by his grandson, Eric Wilson (Natasha) of Keokuk, his granddaughters, Jennifer Wilson of Downers Grove, IL and Jessica Wilson of Chicago, IL, his great-granddaughters, Avery Wilson and Sophie Wilson both of Keokuk, his daughter-in-law, Debbie Wilson of Keokuk, his nephew, Brad Wilson (Patti) of Keokuk and his niece, Lynn Moldrup of Gardner, KS.
Besides his wife, Bob was also preceded in death by his daughter, Bev Wilson, his son, Clint Wilson, his parents and his brother, Harold Wilson.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 21, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk.
Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 21, from 10 – 11 am with family meeting friends at that time.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church.
