Marie Frances Leake, 100, of Fort Madison, IA passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Sunny Brook Care Center in Ft. Madison, IA. Marie was born October 6, 1917 in St. Louis, MO to Frank and Clara Hurley Reinhart in St. Louis, MO. She was united in marriage to Loren Leake on February 8, 1938 in Burlington, IA. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1996. Marie was a home maker who enjoyed playing cards and Bingo. She loved to dance, and was able to continue dancing until she was in her late nineties. Marie's most cherished moments were those that she spent with her family and friends. She is survived by two sons, Robert (Martha) of La Place, LA and Charles (Madeline) of Dallas City, IL. Marie had six grandchildren, Robbie (Cindy) Leake of Dallas City, IL, Vernon (Betty) Leake of New Port Beach, CA, Joe Leake of Burlington, IA, Lonnie (Bridgette) Leake of La Place, LA, Laurie (Charlie) Justus of Slidell, LA and Brody (Kimberly) Leak of Prairieville, LA, twelve great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one son, Loren C. Leake, and her parents. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Pastor Dawn Butler officiating. Burial was in the Keokuk National Cemetery. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service from 10-11 a.m., Tuesday at the funeral home with family meeting with friends at that time.
