Karla J. Gilbert

Karla J. Gilbert, 65, of Marion, IA died Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at UnityPoint Health St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, IA. She was born July 16, 1955 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of Kenneth W. and Peggy Colleen Shoemaker Howard. She was united in marriage to Justin Gilbert. He survives. Other survivors include two sons, Ken (Leah) Gilbert and Keith (Amanda) Gilbert, two grandchildren, a sister, Judy Messina of Tucson, AZ, along with many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Kory James Gilbert, two sisters, Karen Jewel Howard in infancy and Marlene J. Schultz and a brother, Clifford L. Howard. She enjoyed horses, painting and making craft projects. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, at Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk.
