Julia Manton, 57, of Wayland, MO died Monday, April 16, 2018 at her home after a long courageous battle with ALS.
She was born October 6, 1960 in Quincy, IL, the daughter of William and Mary Lou Merrell White and was raised by Walter Morgan. On March 21, 1998, she was united in marriage to the love of her life and best friend, Kevin Manton at the Trinity Methodist Church in Keokuk. He survives.
She is also survived by four sons, Gordan Lee (Alyssa) Smeltser of Quincy, James David (Teresa) Smeltser of Wayland, Brandon Dale Manton of Kahoka, and Logan Douglas (Janie) Smeltser of Wayland, six grandchildren, two brothers, Billy (Karen) Stein of Anchorage, Alaska, and David (Bonnie) Morgan of Kahoka, three sisters, Susan (Frank) Conrad of Donnellson, Patricia (Brian) Gabel of Keokuk, and Bobbie Blaze of Carthage, and her best friend, Gayle Long from Keokuk along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Wally Morgan.
Julia was an avid rock hunter and she enjoyed taking road trips.
She was employed with Steel Castings for 23 years until her health started to fail.
A graveside service was held at 10:00 a.m. on April 21, 2018 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Wayland.

The Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka assisted the family.
