Gloria Joanne Merschbrock, 73, of Montrose, IA, died Sunday, September 4, 2011 at the Montrose Heath Center in Montrose, IA. She was born on April 29, 1938 in Ft. Madison, IA, the daughter of Albert and Sylvia Bernhardt Merschbrock. She had lived in West Palm Beach, FL for twenty four years and moved back to the tri-state area in 2000 to be a caregiver for her mother. She had been employed at the JFK Hospital in West Palm Beach, retiring in 2000. She was an avid reader. She was very thoughtful of others and often delivered lunches to her neighbors at her apartment complex. Gloria is survived by four children, Rick Beaty, Kay Lynn Hermes, Scott Beaty, John Beaty and a son Troy Cox who was adopted by the Cox family when he was young, two sisters, Doloris Hall and her husband Bill of Ft. Madison, IA and Rosetta Brady of Chariton, IA, one sister-in-law, Judy Merschbrock of Argyle, IA and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Shelly Jean Berger and one brother, Kenneth Merschbrock. There will be no services.
