Debra Joan Neill, 58, of Keokuk, IA passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 at her home, following a hard fought battle with cancer.
She was born on August 1, 1957 in Carthage, IL the daughter of Robert Leslie and Joyce Louise Martin Kreps.
Debra graduated from the Southeastern High School in Augusta, IL with the Class of 1975. She attended the Robert Morris College in Carthage and received her Associates Degree.
She was employed as the office manager at Tri-Tech Construction in Keokuk for the last 25 years.
Debra enjoyed working on her house and always had a home improvement project going. She also enjoyed Hockey and followed the Redwings. She loved the ocean, walking on sandy beaches and listening to the waves crash. She was a dedicated fan of "The Walking Dead" television show and reminded people not to call her when the show was on. She loved all animals and often visited and donated to the Keokuk Animal Shelter. She especially loved her cats, Beaker, Six Pack and Mazie and they were a special part of her family. Debra was a loving mother, grandmother and sister and cherished the time she spent with her family. She especially loved to spend time with her granddaughter, Kendall at the park.
Debra is survived by two sons, Eric Neill and his wife Carrie and Dustin Neill and his fiancé, Nalani Proctor all of Keokuk, one granddaughter, Kendall Elizabeth Neill of Keokuk, one sister, Donna McNamara and her husband Tom, of Ottawa, IL, one half-sister, Barb Knox and her husband John of Macomb, IL, two brothers, Dave Kreps and his wife Suzanne of Forsyth, IL and Dan Kreps and his wife, Connie of Colchester, IL, nieces, Leanne Kreps, Katelyn McNamara, Shanna Kreps and MacKenzie McNamara and a nephew, Robert Kreps and his wife Tiffany.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A gathering of remembrance was held from 4 – 7 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk.
