Bonnie J. Gibson of Keokuk died Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at her son's home in Keokuk, Iowa at the age of 73. She was born April 10, 1943 in Ottumwa, Iowa the daughter of Jim and Nellie Kampe Flockhart. She was united in marriage to Gary Gibson. They later divorced. Bonnie graduated from Keokuk Senior High School with the Class of 1961. She was employed with Keokuk Area Hospital as a switchboard operator/supervisor for 16 years. Most recently she was employed with Walmart for over twenty years and retired in 2015. Bonnie was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Keokuk. She loved being in her garden and the beautiful flowers that adorned every corner of the outside of her home. She couldn't wait for Sunday or Monday night NFL football games and was a die-hard Steelers fan. In her spare time she enjoyed being on the river or doing crossword puzzles. She loved all animals and owned many over the years. She was kind and tender hearted and always for the downtrodden. Bonnie loved Christmas and never lost her child-like wonder. She loved giving gifts. Each was thoughtfully chosen as well as the card, paper and bow. Everyone received a gift from Bonnie. There was nothing more treasured in her life than her family. Her son and daughter were always on her mind and her brother always put a smile on her face. We will all deeply miss her until we meet again.
