Obituary for Steven Lynn Francis

Steven Lynn Francis, 43, of Keokuk, died Thursday, January 31, 2019 at the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

He was born on February 13, 1975, in Ft. Madison, IA, the son of Oscar and Dona Boley Francis.

He graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1993.

Steven had been employed at Gregory Manufacturing in Ft. Madison for twenty years.

He was a car enthusiast and enjoyed watching drag racing and going to car shows. He especially liked early model Fords. Steven was a devoted dad and loved his children more than anything. His greatest joy in life was spending time with them and lots of special memories were made while taking car rides with his daughter and teaching his son to work on cars.

He is survived by his son, Colton Francis of Keokuk, his daughter, Alyssa Francis of Keokuk, his parents, Oscar and Dona Francis of Keokuk, his brother, Matt Francis and his wife Shelly of Canton, MI, aunts and uncles, Rowdy and Penny Boley, Don and Kendra Boley, Dee and Tina Boley, Dave and Dorothy Francis all of Hamilton, IL, Terry and Dana Lavarn of Florida, Don and Mary Francis of Keokuk, Jesse and Beth Francis of Grand Island NE, Shari and James Brookins of Wichita, KS And Julia Champlin of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by one son, Seth Michael Francis, his grandparents, Don and Charlotte Boley and Nina and Oscar Francis, Sr. and two aunts, Pat Boley Pults and Wanda Campbell and one uncle, Lindy Campbell

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 5, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Pastor Mark Nichols officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery in Warsaw, IL.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 5th, from 12 noon – 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the family meeting with friends at that time.

Memorials may be made to his Children’s Education Fund.
