Obituary for Leih Ann Hayden

Leih Ann (Lee) Hayden was born May 9, 1947 in Medill, Missouri, the daughter of Wilbur “Bud” and Waneta Rovene “Bill” Kious Lee. She was united in marriage to James Kyle “Jim” Hayden on January 1, 1966 at the Kahoka Christian Church.

Leih Ann was a member of the last graduating class of Kahoka High School before it was renamed to Clark County R-1 High School. She worked at Shellor-Globe for two years where she was an IBM keypunch operator and a production worker. Leih Ann and Jim owned a service station for many years in which she was in charge of the record keeping. On September 12, 1984 Leih Ann was appointed by Governor Bond to complete the term of Clerk of Clark County which was a job held by her husband Jim that passed away September 4, 1984. Leih Ann remained the Clerk of Clark County until her retirement on December 31, 2014.

Leih Ann was a member of the United Methodist Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed riding her bike around town. She also enjoyed gardening, having bonfires and any activity that was outside. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her two grandchildren. She loved watching Hayden play football and hearing about his cooking experiences. She loved watching Allie play softball; whether it was her school softball team or her summer traveling team the “Cobras.” Leih Ann always said fall is for football and summer for softball.
