I worked with Brian at the DGC from 1989 to 1996. I always liked Brian and he was a great asset to the newspaper and the community. Brian was a great friend and I don't think he ever disliked anyone. Even though I haven't seen him since 1996, I will miss him. You deserve a long rest my friend!

I worked with Brian at the DGC. He was also the bird seed guy at my wedding. Very saddened to read that he had passed. I will always remember his laugh and big smile. He was such a kind and loving guy. Brian - have fun in heaven!

Very sorry to hear of Brian's passing. I knew Brian as Brad's big brother and he was always smiling. I never heard him speak an unkind word and will miss running into him around Keokuk. My condolences to his brother and his family.

Most people who lived in Keokuk, Hamilton or Warsaw for any length of time knew Brian. I honestly can’t think of anyone more tenderhearted and caring. Once he met you he knew you forever, was always genuinely happy to see you out and would stop to visit. In the last three years, I got to know him best from the newsroom at the Daily Gate City where my daughter is a staff writer. The DGC employees were truly his family. Our loss is Heaven’s gain.

Your family is in my thoughts. I worked with Brian many times on news releases for the newspaper. He was always fun and cheerful in our emails back and forth. I will miss him.

I am still in shock and saddened by Brian's passing. He was a proud member of our community and a great champion for our area. One only needs to look at his obituary to see his accomplishments and one only needs to read these comments to see his lasting impression on people. He was a delight to be around and - as those who knew him will tell you - he could be funny, serious, headstrong and colorful. My thoughts and prayers are with his parents, Brad & his family, Jenny, his nieces and nephews - who I know were the light of his life - and his DGC family. Rest in peace my friend. See you in that great newsroom in the sky.
